I believe in what my own teachers taught me— that arts education is not an end in itself, but rather, a means to connect people with themselves and each other, to empower them to find their voice, truth and expression, and to inspire them to use these talents for good.

Everyone has an artist within them. And every child is an artist with an emerging story to share.

This is why we “teach” the arts— because more than the proficiency in skills, or the shows and awards and certificates, children who learn to listen carefully, to empathise with sensitivity, to think critically, and to communicate with authenticity, become the future world citizens who will make a difference— more than we ourselves could ever imagine or achieve.
